In a groundbreaking development, Joe Nwiloh heart foundation in conjunction with Nigeria women football league launches the Heart beat of soccer initiative at the supersix tournament, hosted in Bayelsa state. The prroject was designed to ensure particpants at the tourney undergoes a comprehensive heart health screening for detecting potential substrates for lethal cardiac arrhythmias, which can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death on the field.
Highlight on the the strategic partnership includes ECG tests, blood pressure checks, cholesterol and fasting blood sugar tests for participating teams. Additionally, CPR training was provided to empower all participants with skills to help save a victim of cardiac arrest. The platform also enables the particpants including players, coaches and administartors from Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, and Robo Queens, at the supersix tournament to have access to medical professionals with niche in heart health specialty.
